2012 Book Challenges

So I’ve been contemplating what, if any, book challenges to set myself for 2012.
I love to read but I find that I easily fall into a rut with the same old same old if I don’t have some sort of challenge to meet.

This year I want to make more effort on hitting books from my Booklitzer 200 challenge.
I also want to keep up the Ravelry 52 in 52 challenge. I started this too late this year and will end up falling 9 short. I’m very happy with that result none the less.
And the final challenge is to take part in the Off The Shelf 2012 challenge.

I’d like to get through at least 10 or 15 of my Booklitzer books, if some of them double up as OtS that’d be great too.  And for the Off The Shelf challenge I’d like to aim for the “Trying” level.  That would be 15 books by year end.  My furious shelf can be the starting point since they’ve made their feelings perfectly clear.

What challenges, if any, are you planning to set yourself this year?

If you’re planning on hitting any of those challenges, drop a comment below and we can keep each other company.

  1. Sadly, the only “challenge” i have is to make sure that every book i read (recreationally) this year is good enough so as to make me close it and then rub it vigorously – one hand on the front and the other on the back – when i’ve completed it.

It’s a thing I have – probably best not to ask too many questions about it…
